Romantic Things To Do

romantic things to do just rated Miami the third most romantic city in America. We know Miami could have easily been first. It’s a city that is best experienced with someone you love. Make your trip to Miami a romantic one. Sail away together. Paddleboard towards the sunset. Take a walk on the beach. Window shop at an open-air mall. Pack a picnic. Enjoy a craft cocktail. Go dancing. Dine in candlelight.

Lincoln Road Romance

A walk along the pedestrian promenade at Lincoln Road is a Miami must, and it’s only better together. Walk along this iconic South Beach street and pop into a bookstore. Stop for a beer or cocktail, or just a lemonade or iced tea to cool off.

There’s a movie theater at one end of Lincoln Road, so you can catch the latest rom-com (or sci-fi thriller, if that’s what you’re into). At the other end is an arts corner with The Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater for concerts, comedians and other performances. The Frank Gehry-designed New World Center that houses the New World Symphony is just across the street. When the weather cools off, they host outdoor movie screenings on the 7,000 square-foot projection wall, and couples pack the lawn with picnic baskets.

Heart Racing Adventure

Book a day of paddleboarding, the latest fitness and nature craze to sweep Miami. Stand-up Paddleboards, or SUP, look like surfboards, but you stand on them and use a paddle similar to a kayak’s paddle. It’s a beautiful way to see the city from the water and go at your own pace.

Ask any Miami native about the most romantic thing to do, and they’ll probably tell you it’s boating. We love our days on the bay. What could be more romantic than the wind in your hair, the clear blue water lapping along the boat and a bottle of champagne? Charter a boat if you’re unfamiliar with sailing or boating, or look into renting one that you can man yourself and set sail on an adventure.

Shopping Hand In Hand

Shopping together can be romantic. Pick out something to take home and remember your trip by, whether it’s a sparkly piece of jewelry or a silly touristy t-shirt. Take a stroll in a romantic outdoor mall, like Village of Merrick Park in Coral Gables or Bal Harbour Shops in Bal Harbour.

A Historic Love

If you’re love is epic, you may want to celebrate it surrounded by history. Visit the stunning Vizcaya Museum and Gardens and be transported back to the romantic Italian Renaissance. It’s easy to get lost in this limestone mansion and the accompanying sculpture garden overlooking Biscayne Bay.

Love Potions

Everyone knows that the sunset is romantic and that a cocktail can work as a love potion. Let us help you figure out where to go.

Sunset Lounge at the Mondrian South Beach is a perfect destination to watch the sunset over Biscayne Bay and downtown. You can sit inside, but why would you want to? Enjoy the ocean breeze, sip a refreshing Caipirinha and take advantage of their “kissing corners.”

The Delano Hotel’s famous Rose Bar has gone through a renovation and has all the allure for a romantic cocktail for two.

Beachside Lovin’

You’re probably planning to hit the beach while you’re in Miami. Consider all your options for a romantic beach getaway. There’s South Beach, Miami’s most famous beach with a party atmosphere all year round. There are other options for a more quiet, secluded beach experience, like Sunny Isles Beach and Key Biscayne.

For a beach day that’s really away from it all, check out the lesser-known Homestead Bayfront Park Beach. This beach in south Miami-Dade County is far away from that wild island paradise of Miami Beach and in a more bucolic, suburban part of town.
